Tipper Trailer Safety Guide
Adelaide Trailer Hire Safe Towing Guide.
ALL INFORMATION GIVEN IN THIS DOCUMENT IS TO BE USED AS A GUIDE ONLY. IT IS THE HIRER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEY HAVE THE REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE TO SAFELY TOW AND OPERATE THE TRAILERS OR EQUIPMENT.
Locate the tab and gently insert the plug into the tipper box.
Use the remote to lift the tray up and down.
Caution: To avoid crush damage always remove the rear cage and tail gate before tipping.
ALWAYS Check your height clearance before tipping the tray.
ALWAYS ensure the area is clear of bystanders when raising or lowering.
ALWAYS lower the tub before moving vehicle.
ENSURE tub is down when finished to relieve pressure on the hydraulic lines
ENSURE the rear cage gate is secured prior to lift to prevent it from being crushed.
NEVER drive with the tray up.
It is a legal requirement that all tipper trailers have a braking device to prevent the tray from dropping in the rare case in which the hydraulics may fail.
As the tray rises, the brake arm drags over the rungs and locks in each step, making it impossible for the tray to drop if the hydraulics fail.
To lower the tray, simply move the brake arm to the left side and rest the locator screw on the slide rail.
Store the brake arm back into the bottom rung.
- Check your surroundings before tipping. Be careful of others.
- Never climb or pace any part of your body under the tipper tray whilst using the remote control.
- Avoid unnecessary time spent under the tipper when adjusting the brake arm to minimise risk.
The tipper trailer can be charged either overnight via a power point or from your car’s 12V cigarette lighter.
